The Marshall Aid Commemoration Act 1953 was passed by the British Parliament in order to express enduring gratitude to the American people for the Marshall Plan. This Act established a series of scholarships for young Americans to study for a degree at a British University, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and administered in Britain by the Marshall Aid Commemoration Commission.
