Sexual assault examination: requirements for forensic science related evidence

Guidance on the requirements for the assessment, collection and recording of forensic science related evidence during sexual assault examinations.



This standard sets out the accreditation and requirements for the forensic medical examination carried out routinely at designated sexual assault examination facilities. It includes the timescale for implementation of these requirements and an associated self-assessment check list to support organisations to assess their readiness state and identify their preparation gaps.
