Technical Engineering Graduate Scheme
Opens: March
Starts: October/November
Duration: Two years
Location: Bristol with work-based technical placements
What you will need
Five full GCSEs at A*-C or grades 4-9. Predicted or achieved a minimum of 2:2 (or equivalent) in an engineering or science-related honours degree.
What you will do
You will complete various work-based placements across SDA delivery teams, the Defence Nuclear Organisation (DNO) and Navy Command.
You will have a dedicated scheme manager, a placement supervisor and a professionally registered mentor to ensure your professional and on-the-job development. Your first placement will be in Bristol, with a placement to an industry partner and to one of our waterfront sites. Placements are designed to build your competence and enterprise awareness and give you an understanding of the systems you’ll be supporting.
There is potential to up-skill and do further academic study (Master’s degree/Master of Engineering). You will also have access to technical training and continuous professional development.
Once you have completed the scheme you will be assigned to a role within either SDA, DNO or Navy Command. You will continue to be supported towards gaining professional registration.
Due to the secure nature of these positions, posts will be reserved for UK Nationals only and may require you to obtain Developed Vetting clearance once in post.
