This review was conducted by Defra’s Social Science Expert Group (a sub-group of Defra’s Science Advisory Council).

Part 1 reflects on lessons from public engagement and possible future directions. Part 2 looks at case studies for air pollution, food, bovine tuberculosis, marine conservation zones and nanotechnologies.
