1. Overview

Significant discounts for the public sector are available from the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) with a number of software organisations.

Eligibility criteria apply so please review the specific details of each discount carefully.

2. Microsoft

Commercial terms between Microsoft and eligible public sector customers offer a range of product discounts.

Please note that Crown Commercial Service cannot help with Microsoft’s home use programme and people should speak to their own IT or visit the Microsoft home use FAQ

3. Oracle

This agreement provides reduced support and maintenance costs and access to discounted licences. The agreement is open to:

  • UK central government departments and their executive agencies
  • non-departmental public bodies sponsored by central government departments or agencies
  • police forces and fire and ambulance services in England and Wales
  • NHS in England

Specific commercial terms, including service descriptions and pricing, are held in commercial confidence.

Eligible public sector organisations should email info@crowncommercial.gov.uk to receive a copy of the relevant document and pricing or to discuss terms.

4. Northgate

Two agreements have been established with Northgate for day rates:

  1. capped day rates for all UK local authorities taking services from Northgate Information Solutions UK Limited
  2. day rates for all UK local authorities taking services from Northgate Arinso UK Limited

The rates reflect the lowest rate currently available for each staff grade offered by Northgate under CCS agreements.

Local authority customers who have already secured lower rates – through, for example, managed services agreements – will continue to benefit from their existing rates.

5. Microsoft Home Use Programme

Please note, CCS do not manage the Microsoft Home Use Programme on behalf of any UK Public Sector organisation. Please contact your internal IT department if you require more information.
