Designing the UK’s proposed GDF so that it is fully automated, requiring minimal human entry, is an attractive proposition for improving operational reliability, efficiency and reducing the risk related to the hazardous materials it will contain.
This report discusses some of the opportunities, and the challenges, that robotics and autonomous systems may present in the operation of the GDF.
