Details

This guidance supplements the existing guidance on openness and accountability in local pay which was published in February 2012.

The guidance must be taken into account by authorities in England when preparing their pay policy statements for 2013 to 2014 and subsequent financial years.

Relevant authorities are required to prepare pay policy statements. These statements must explain what an authority’s policies are on a range of issues relating to the pay of its workforce. The statements must be prepared for each financial year, approved by full council, or a meeting of members in the case of a fire and rescue authority, and published on relevant authorities’ websites.
