This report assesses how regulated service providers have used age assurance, drawing on evidence from the first 6 months of the protection of children duties being in force.

It presents early findings across the pornography, social media and online dating sectors. It does not provide final conclusions on age assurance effectiveness.

The report includes:

  • how providers of regulated services have used age assurance
  • how effective age assurance has been
  • factors that have prevented or hindered the effectiveness of age assurance
