Details

The Lord Chief Justice has authorised the use in magistrates’ courts of an amended form for preparation for trial, where the defendant pleads not guilty, and new notes for guidance on using the form.

They were devised by the Rule Committee’s case management group, which includes members of the Committee and other practitioners.

The changes are designed to help courts, and the parties, avoid unnecessary hearings and to help make sure that the trial takes place on time and effectively.

The form and notes appear under the heading ‘Part 3 – Case management’ on the Forms page.
