Guidance

Accessing register data under the Energy Performance of Buildings Regulations 2012

Guidance about obtaining energy performance data, including what data will be provided.

This publication was withdrawn on

The provision of data using the bulk data service came to an end on 1 October 2016, with the revocation of regulation 31 of the Energy Performance of Buildings (England and Wales) Regulations 2012. We are working towards making a significant proportion of the register data openly accessible. We are at a testing phase with both the data and the access tools and are working to finalise the release.

Applies to England and Wales

Details

This Energy Performance Certificate data guidance is aimed at authorised recipients and describes the processes for obtaining the data in bulk.

It describes who is entitled to the data, what data will be provided and the cost of making it available, where to go to request the data, and details the 3 standard packages the data will available in.

In January 2015 the department published a report summarising the responses to a survey of current and potential users of Energy Performance of Buildings data.
