This letter announces the selection of Amerdeep Somal as the preferred candidate for the position of Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman by the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.

This letter also confirms the extension of the term of office of the interim Ombudsman, Paul Najsarek, for a further 4 months until 31 January 2024.
