Details

In 2008-09, the National College for Teaching and Leadership launched an initiative on leadership for closing the gap. This was in response to the national emphasis placed on improving outcomes for disadvantaged pupils. It also reflected the priorities and concerns of many school leaders.

This report explores work done by groups of schools on leadership for closing the gap. It includes:

• details of the work carried out by the schools
• an analysis across the groups
• a discussion exploring connections with wider research
• the implications for policy and practice
