The India-UK Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO) was established in 2005 to further develop the strategic economic partnership between India and the UK.

The twelfth meeting of the JETCO took place in London. Ministers from India and the UK discussed:

  • a shared vision for a deep and dynamic trade partnership between the two countries
  • the development and strengths of each others industrial strategies

They also discussed the work of the joint working groups on:

  • trade
  • technological collaboration, advanced manufacturing and engineering
  • smart cities

The next meeting of the JETCO is likely to take place in Delhi in late 2018. The joint working groups will continue to meet and make progress, supported by policy input from both governments.
