Who is the TRA?

The UK TRA is an Arms-Length Body of the Department for International Trade, set up through the Trade Act 2021 as a consequence of EU Exit.

The TRA has been set up to carry out a function previously carried out in the EU.

What does the TRA do and why?

The TRA investigates allegations of unfair international trade practices which are harming UK producers, as well as unforeseen surges of imports. It does this to establish whether measures should be put in place to address the injury caused, normally in the form of duties.

The TRA makes independent, evidence-based decisions.

You can contact the TRA via email on contact@traderemedies.gov.uk for general enquiries, or to ask about bringing a new case.

If you would like to take part in an ongoing case, you can register online, on the Trade Remedies Service(TRS), and you can contact the relevant case team on their dedicated email address. This is set out in the related Notice of Initiation.
