The Interministerial Group (Trade) met on 4 March 2026 via video conference.
Attendees
The meeting was chaired by the Minister of State for Trade, Sir Chris Bryant MP.
The other ministers in attendance were:
- from the Scottish Government: Minister for Business and Employment, Richard Lochhead MSP
- from the Welsh Government: Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy, and Planning, Rebecca Evans MS
- from the Northern Ireland Executive: Minister for the Economy, Caoimhe Archibald MLA
What was discussed
Ministers discussed the UK government’s current trade priorities including:
- UK-US trade
- the UK steel trade measures
- UK-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations
Ministers agreed the meeting should reconvene quarterly.
