Details

As part of its annual mandate, the Industrial Strategy Advisory Council (ISAC) was asked to provide advice and support on the development of the Industrial Strategy impact pathway.

To do this, ISAC commissioned London Economics to make a proposal to refine the impact pathway, working under the guidance of an official-level steering group and with oversight from the following ISAC members:

The revised impact pathway builds on the version published in the white paper, strengthening it as a framework for developing metrics that track the links between policy interventions and their intended outcomes. This work has informed ISAC’s advice and its independent oversight of the strategy’s monitoring and evaluation.

It considers:

  • how the Industrial Strategy should be monitored and evaluated at the programme level
  • the risks and assumptions of the Industrial Strategy
  • recommendations for delivering a comprehensive evaluation
