The Independent Assessors (IAs) are appointed by the UK and Welsh Governments to consider appeals and complaints by student finance customers. Each year, they provide an annual report and cover cases from the last twelve months.

The Independent Assessors’ Annual Report 2025 to 2026 sets out the background to the work of the IAs and the role they play, summarising the year’s activity and making recommendations about areas for improvement.
