Guidance on professional development for scientists and engineers in government.
This handbook sets out how scientists and engineers in government can manage their professional development, enhance their performance, and achieve success. It includes guidance on;
- putting together a continuing professional development (CPD) programme
- using the skills framework
- carrying out a self-assessment
- maintaining a learning and development plan
The guidance is aimed primarily at Government Science and Engineering (GSE) members, however it can also be used by those scientists in other roles, and as a signpost to more specialist training where needed.
