Details

The draft Local Audit Bill was published in July 2012, for consultation and pre-legislative scrutiny. During the autumn of 2012, an ad hoc committee of the House of Commons was established and tasked with undertaking the pre-legislative scrutiny of the draft Local Audit Bill (PDF, 1.56 MB).

A summary of the consultation responses to draft Bill was published on the 24 October 2012.

On 17 January 2013, the committee published its report and recommendations (PDF, 1.43 MB). This document represents the government’s carefully considered response to the committee’s report.
