Details

The Committee has undertaken a high-level review and assessment of the potential construction and operational costs for a GDF, based on 2021 costings of methods of underground construction, equipment and operations.

The estimated cost used a series of key assumptions to arrive at the order of magnitude assessment.

It allows a comparison with cost estimates recently published in the Nuclear Waste Services (NWS) annual report.
