Electric vehicle chargepoint grant for residential landlords
What you can get
You can get an electric vehicle chargepoint grant (EV chargepoint grant) to install a chargepoint at a residential property you own.
You can get 75% off the cost of buying and installing chargepoints, up to a maximum of £500 per socket.
You can get grants for up to 200 sockets per year. These can be across several properties or for one property.
There’s a different way to apply for an EV chargepoint grant if you’re living in a rented property or flat.
Organisations under common control
Your organisation is under common control if it’s part of a group that is owned or controlled by the same person or company - for example if your organisation has one of the following:
- a parent company
- a holding company
- a controlling person
In these cases, the group as a whole is eligible for grants for up to 200 sockets per year, rather than each organisation in the group.
If you applied before 1 April 2026
If you applied before 1 April 2026, your grant will be worth up to £350 per socket.
You can re-apply for the £500 rate if your chargepoint has not been installed. Tell your installer before you re-apply.
You can find out more about the changes to EV chargepoint grant schemes and how to re-apply.
