Re: Freedom of Information Request BSCC-FOI-0223-JM

Dear Mr Roberts,

I write in response to an email received from you to our office on 24 February 2023. In reference to the fine imposed by ICO on Clearview AI Inc you have requested the following information:

  1. Please provide copies of any correspondence you may have had with the ICO., the College of Policing, HMICFRS or individual police forces about Clearview.

  2. Please also provide details of any views you may have expressed publicly about Clearview.

Your request has been handled as a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

I am a regulator, independent of, but appointed by government. My office is a team of Home Office staff who make use of Home Office systems. I therefore do not hold the information you have requested, and you may wish to consider a separate request to be made to the Home Office under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act should you still require the information you have asked for.

If you are dissatisfied with this response, you may request an independent internal review of our handling of your request by submitting a complaint within two months to the address below, quoting reference BSCC-FOI-0223-JM. If you ask for an internal review, it would be helpful if you could say why you are dissatisfied with the response.
