In November 2010, the Government Chief Scientific Adviser was asked by the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions to consider whether there was any evidence that would justify a change to the classification of chrysotile asbestos as a category 1 carcinogen.
This letter and the accompanying minutes set out the conclusions of an expert group on this matter.
