Details

  1. The Advocate General for Scotland invites application from interested junior Counsel for appointment to a panel of Standing Junior Counsel to the Advocate General for Scotland. This panel will include a number of Counsel appointed as Standing Juniors to the Department for Work and Pensions, Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, the Ministry of Defence and the Secretary of State for the Home Department, as well as a general panel to deal with work not only for the foregoing, but for all other UK Government Departments and Agencies as required.

  2. Appointment as Standing Junior Counsel is open to any member of the junior Scottish Bar other than Counsel holding appointment as an Advocate Depute, or as Standing Junior Counsel to the Scottish Government.

  3. The Advocate General will appoint one of the panel appointed as Standing Juniors to be First Standing Junior Counsel to the Advocate General for Scotland.

  5. Applications should be submitted in accordance with the instructions set out in the information for applicants by no later than midnight on Sunday 17th June 2018.
