Directions under section 31A of the Registered Designs Act given in relation to design forms for requesting a formal written statement of grounds and for appealing against a decision to the Appointed Person

  1. The registrar has given the following Directions under section 31A of the Registered Designs Act 1949 (“the Act”).

  2. These Directions direct the use of new forms:

    * form DF5 for requesting a formal written statement of the reasons for the registrar’s decision where such a statement has not already been provided, as set out in Schedule 1 (PDF, 575KB) to these Directions

    * form DF55 for appealing against the registrar’s decision to the Appointed Person, as set out in Schedule 2,(PDF, 554KB) to these Directions

  3. These Directions come into force on 6 April 2015.
