Details

The application of the Waste Hierarchy is mandated by UK policy and environmental regulation; and is central to the Strategy. It is recognised as good practice in all aspects of radioactive and non-radioactive waste management, and is an essential consideration for determining Best Available Technique.

Find out more about the National Waste Programme that was established to implement the UK’s strategy for the management of solid low level radioactive waste (LLW) from the nuclear industry. It is an industry-wide collaboration led by LLWR on behalf of the NDA.
