Zoë Compston

Biography

Zoë Compston is a Counsellor at the UK Mission to the EU, leading teams on environmental policy, agriculture, fisheries, food safety, human health and UK-EU trade in goods. She is also responsible for the Mission’s engagement with industry, and for work to support SMEs.

Zoë is a career diplomat with experience from a range of overseas roles, including as Deputy High Commissioner to Rwanda and Head of Economics and International Development at the UK Mission to the UN in New York.

Prior to her posting in Brussels, Zoë was Deputy Director for Global Food Security, Land and Agriculture at the FCDO, based in London. Other London roles have included working in a Ministerial Private Office, and sanctions policy post-EU exit.
