Yvonne Spencer
Biography
Yvonne Spencer was APHA Director of Science Capability (formerly Director of Transformation) from June 2020 until November 2025.
She first joined the agency in 1984.
Her career in APHA includes:
- Head of Pathology & Animal Sciences Department
- Lead Scientist of the Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathy (TSE) Programme and Director of National & International Reference Laboratory for TSEs
- Pathology Senior Research Scientist, and Workgroup Leader of the Pathology Department
