William Wright OBE

Biography

• Bill was infected with Hepatitis C through contaminated factor 8. He now has advanced liver cancer.
• Bill founded and was Chair of Haemophilia Scotland until 2024, and has contributed significantly to two public inquiries into infected blood as a core participant.
• Bill was awarded an OBE by the King in the 2025 New Years Honours List for services to the Infected Blood Inquiry and people in Scotland with bleeding disorders.  He was heavily involved in fundraising for a memorial in Scotland.
