William Root
Biography
Bill Root is a nuclear engineer who has spent nearly 50 years in the civil side of the industry, a chartered engineer and a Fellow of the Nuclear Institute.
He has held various senior jobs at Magnox Stations when they were generating, including Engineering Manager, Production Manager and Station Director. He was an Executive Director of Magnox when it was part of BNFL and chaired its Nuclear Safety Committees. Bill has also worked internationally in the US and Europe.
For some years Bill has been a consultant to the nuclear industry at various sites, including Sellafield and Capenhurst. He has been a Non Executive Director in DSRL since 2016 and chairs its Environment, Health, Safety and Security Subcommittee.
