Dr Vanessa Ogden CBE
Biography
Dr Vanessa Ogden CBE is the Regional Director for London. She started the role in April 2026.
Dr Ogden is a nationally recognised education leader, she previously served as CEO of the Mulberry Schools Trust and was a National Leader in Education.
Throughout her career, she has played a key role in improving educational quality across inner city London and other urban and rural contexts. Her leadership at Mulberry has been widely praised for raising standards and championing inclusive, high quality education for all.
Dr Ogden holds a doctorate in education policy and school improvement, and is an Honorary Professor of Practice at UCL Institute of Education. She is committed to equity in education, having collaborated with the Women of the World Foundation and as Founding Chair of the Fair Education Alliance.

The Regional Director for London is responsible for working locally across children’s social care, SEND, schools and area-based programmes to improve outcomes for children, families and learners. They are responsible for making decisions in the following local authorities:
