Valerie Hughes D’Aeth
Biography
Valerie Hughes D’Aeth left her role as Non-Executive Director at the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) on 31 December 2025. She was appointed to the role in 2021.
Valerie was Chief HR Officer of the BBC and a member of the BBC’s Executive Committee from 2014 until the end of 2019. Prior to this she held the role of Group HR Director at Amey for 5 years and before that Group HR Director of Steria. Over her career she has worked across a broad range of organisations in a variety of sectors and countries, with particular focus on organisation efficiency and effectiveness, culture change and HR transformation.
