Tom Koukoulis

Biography

Tom has lived with thalassaemia since birth, and was infected with Hepatitis C via blood transfusion in Greece and lived with it for approximately thirty years.
Tom is a strong advocate for thalassaemia, volunteering with the UK Thalassaemia Society and taking part in conferences as a patient representative.
Tom was part of the consultation on blood donation, contributing to the work on criteria and phrasing, and has worked with the European Rare diseases organisation and the European Medicines Agency.
