Tim Robinson is CEO of LGC, a global, scientific analysis company that traces its origins to the privatised Laboratory of the Government Chemist.
Tim started his career as a technology engineer at IBM where he worked for 10 years in UK and Asia. He has subsequently run a variety of technology related businesses: CEO of Talaris (a global leader in technology systems for cash management), CEO of Xafinity (BPO and software company) and Senior Vice President of the worldwide Civil Security Division at Thales Group.
Tim has previously held various non-executive positions including at Camelot, UKTI, and Oxfam. Tim is currently Chairman of DFID’s Digital Advisory Panel and non-executive Chairman of Open GI, a technology company.
Non-executive directors provide an external perspective on DFID’s work, while knowing and understanding DFID as an organisation.
They use their experiences and skills from outside DFID to provide objective and constructive challenges on the decisions made by DFID’s committees and boards.
