Tijs Broeke

Biography

Tijs is a senior communications and public policy professional with over 20 years of experience working in both public and private organisations with a background in the criminal justice sector, transport infrastructure and technology.

Tijs is an experienced non-executive board member. He currently serves as Chair of the City of London Police Authority, Chair of the National Cyber Resilience Centre Group and is a Board Member of the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners. In September 2023 he was appointed by the Mayor of London to the London Policing Board. Tijs has frontline policing experience as a Special Constable and served as trustee at Working Change – a charity supporting women with convictions into employment. Having previously worked for the then Equal Opportunities Commission, Tijs is a keen advocate for social mobility, for example through his work as Chair of the Board of Governors at London Metropolitan University since July 2022, and previously as trustee and Chair of the City of London Academies Trust supporting 12 schools across inner-London. In addition, Tijs is Deputy Chair of the Board at the globally renowned Barbican Centre, and Chair of its Finance and Risk Committee.
