Thomas Codrington

Biography

Thomas Codrington arrived in Vancouver as the British Consul General in February 2022. He is the UK Government’s representative in British Columbia, the Yukon, and the Northwest Territories.

Tom was previously Deputy Director of Strategy at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) where he led the UK’s policy planners, responsible for advising Ministers on the UK’s long-term international strategy. He was previously posted to Tripoli and Tunis focusing on security, human rights and counter-terrorism in Libya. He has also worked in London on Russia policy, crisis response, and UK relations with Europe and the Americas. Prior to joining the civil service, Tom consulted for renewable energy and clean technology companies.

The Consul General represents the UK government and is typically responsible for consular, visa and trade activities in their city or region.
