Biography

Susannah Storey became Acting Director General at the Department for Exiting the European Union in October 2017. She was previously a Director in the department as a job-share with Jo Shanmugalingam, who is now on maternity leave.

Before joining DExEU, she was Director of Policy, Implementation and Planning at BEIS and was Strategy Director at the Department of Energy and Climate Change, both as a job-share with Jo Shanmugalingam.

Susannah started her civil service career at the Shareholder Executive, now UKGI, carrying out a number of roles, including Director of Royal Mail and Postal Services and a non-executive Director of the Post Office.

Prior to the civil service, she worked in UK M&A at Schroders and then Citigroup. Susannah is married with three children.
