Sue Langley OBE
Biography
Sue took up her appointment as a non-executive director (NED) for the Home Office in December 2013. She was appointed as the lead NED in May 2014.
Sue has extensive board and international experience. She is currently Chair of Gallagher UK and the Senior Independent Director for UKAR (Northern Rock asset management and Bradford & Bingley). Previously she was CEO of the Financial Services Organisation for DIT, Director of Market Operations for Lloyd’s of London, Chairman of Lloyds Japan and Director of Lloyds Asia and a founding member of the Women’s Business Council. Prior to this she was Chief Operating Officer and a member of the executive team for the Hiscox Group, holding various board positions.
Sue is involved in a number of voluntary organisations. Born in the East End she has a focus on social mobility and is a mentor for women across different industries. A recipient of the Financial Services Women in the City Achievement Award, in 2015 she was awarded an OBE for services to women in business.
