Steve Oldfield

Biography

Steve Oldfield was appointed Chief Commercial Officer at the Department of Health and Social Care in 2017, joining from a career in the private sector, principally in pharmaceuticals.

Previous roles include:

  • Chief Operating Officer for PGT Healthcare, a consumer-health joint venture between Procter & Gamble and Teva
  • UK Managing Director for Sanofi and Teva
  • Vice President, Global Head of Cardiovascular Medicine
  • Managing Director in Thailand, South Korea and Mexico

Chief Commercial Officer

The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) is responsible for the department’s commercial strategy, leading on the development of commercial capability and the sharing of commercial best practice across the wider health family, as well as the strategy and engagement with the life sciences sector.

The Commercial and Life Sciences Group is made up of 5 areas:

  • the Commercial directorate
  • the Office for Life Sciences directorate
  • Continuity of Supply
  • the Medicines and Pharmacy directorate
  • the MedTech directorate
