Sonia Phippard
Biography
Sonia was Director-General, Policy Delivery at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs from April 2015 to December 2019.
Sonia has held 3 other Director posts in Defra:
- Water and Flood Risk management (2010 to 2015)
- EU and International (2006 to 2010)
- Sustainable Agriculture and Livestock Products (2001 to 2006)
Previously, Sonia was based in the Cabinet office, where she had a variety of roles including central HR policy, machinery of government, principal private Secretary to the Cabinet Secretary, Civil Service reform and posts in the Cabinet Secretariat, alongside secondments to the Department for Education and the private sector.
