Simon Tooth

Biography
Simon Tooth became Chargé d’Affaires a.i. in Monrovia in May 2025. Before this, Simon was Head of the West Africa Section.
Simon joined the FCDO in 2007. He has been previously posted overseas in Yaoundé, where he worked in Chad, Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon. Simon has had a diverse career in HQ, working on China, Counter Terrorism, the Overseas Territories and over seven years in roles focusing on Africa.

Chargé d’Affaires to Liberia
The Chargé d’Affaires represents His Majesty The King and the UK government in the country to which they are appointed. They are responsible for the direction and work of the High Commission and its Consulates, including political work, trade and investment, press and cultural relations, and visa and consular services.
