Mr Simon ten Brinke-Jackson

Biography

Simon ten Brinke-Jackson is Deputy High Commissioner and Development Director to Zambia and has served in this role since July 2025.

Simon joined the then Department for International Development (DFID) in 2007 and has held positions for HMG in London and overseas. Prior to his posting to Zambia, Simon served in London working in the Middle East and North Africa Department (MENAD) where he led the Integrated Security Fund’s (ISF) MENA Portfolio focussing on UK national security and peacebuilding across the region.  Before this he held positions at the British Embassies in Baghdad, as Deputy Development Director, and Riyadh, as DFID Representative for Yemen, where he worked on development, stabilisation, and reconstruction.

Prior to these postings he worked in the UK’s then Stabilisation Unit holding positions leading its response to Ukraine in 2014 and its work on Afghanistan (2012-14) and before that in the DFID Parliamentary Unit.
