Simon Evans

Biography

Simon Evans worked as a chief officer in the magistrates’ courts service, and served as a justices’ chief executive and a justices’ clerk in Cumbria. He subsequently took office as the first Area Director of Her Majesty’s Courts Service (HMCS) in the region.

Career

Simon left HMCS in 2007 to pursue a portfolio career, working as a Deputy Traffic Commissioner, a Fee Paid Judge on the Social Entitlement Chamber, a Lay Member (Chair) of the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s Fitness to Practice Panel and an Independent Member (Chair) of the Parole Board for England and Wales. Simon previously worked as a management consultant supporting and advising the Croatian Government and its courts on its application for EU membership and as a former member of the Judicial Studies Board.
