Mr Simon Cook
Biography
Simon Cook no longer works for the Oil and Pipelines Agency. Simon led the Asset Management Team within the Oil and Pipelines Agency (OPA), which prior to the sale of the Government Pipelines and Storage System (GPSS) in 2015, covered the technical authority for the GPSS, the project engineering activities, the Operations and Maintenance activities via a contract with Costain and Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS). He joined the OPA in November 2011 after working within the pharmaceutical industry for 22 years where he had the sad task of closing a site down after 122 years of operation. Prior to that he had 13 years in the paper industry where he started as an apprentice Tool Maker. For the majority of his working career Simon has been involved in operational maintenance, delivering world class asset care programmes. There is currently no one in the Asset Technical Director role.
