Shaun Cleary

Biography

Shaun Cleary has been British High Commissioner to Mozambique since April 2010.

He joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1988. His previous FCO overseas postings were as Political Officer, South Africa (1990-1994); UK Budget, Energy and Environment Counsellor to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, Paris (1998-2002); Deputy Consul General, Basra, Iraq (2004-5), and Acting High Commissioner in Suva, Fiji.

He holds Masters Degrees in History and International Relations (Cambridge University) and Business Administration (Open University), and is currently studying for a Masters Degree in Finance (SOAS).

Mr Cleary is married with six children.
