Serena Stone MBE

Biography

Serena Stone was the Principal Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs from June 2018 to April 2019. She previously served 2 Foreign Secretaries as their Private Secretary with lead responsibility for Africa, Asia, counter-terrorism and consular affairs. Serena joined the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in 2009, after completing a Masters in global politics at the London School of Economics and working in the media and non-governmental organisation sectors. Her overseas postings include Kabul, Nairobi and Mogadishu. In London, Serena had a range of roles, largely focused on international security and counter-terrorism.
