Sarah Taylor

Biography
Sarah Taylor is the Chief People Officer for the Home Office, where she leads the people function, driving workforce transformation and engagement. The ambitious agenda of works will see her leading people-centric strategies, policies and operational practices that are optimally delivered. Her keen focus is on values-based leadership, pride within the workforce and achieving a customer-focused approach with teams that have high morale and capabilities. She will use her experiences from previous Executive Director roles to drive digital innovation and new ways of working across non-traditional boundaries, in true partnership.
Before taking up her post at the Home Office, she worked as a Board Director of People and Organisational Improvement in Digital Health Care Wales (DHCW) and successfully led on digital transformation of services across diverse workforce groups at a national level. Sarah has worked at director level in the NHS, public services and government for over 25 years.
Sarah is a chartered fellow of the CIPD and her passion for working with people translates into how she prioritises the promotion and retention of talent, and improving wellbeing, equality and inclusion.
Chief People Officer
The Chief People Officer works across the whole Home Office portfolio, and has overall responsibility for the people directorate, which includes: equality, inclusion and wellbeing; HR strategies, policies and legal; workforce transformation; organisational development and design; strategic business partnering; resourcing; strategic workforce planning; reward; and across government programmes and projects.
