Professor Sarah Brown

Biography

Sarah Brown became a Low Pay Commissioner on 26th March 2015. Her term ends on 10 November 2021.

She is a Professor of Economics at the University of Sheffield and a director of the Institute for Economic Analysis of Decision-making (InstEAD) at the University of Sheffield.

She is a research fellow at the IZA (Institute for the Study of Labour, Bonn) and an associate fellow of Sheffield Political Economy Research Institute (SPERI).

Sarah is also currently a member of the Royal Economic Society’s Steering Group of the Conference of Heads of University Departments of Economics and the Royal Economic Society Council.

Her research interests lie in the areas of labour economics, household finances and applied microeconometrics.
