Sarah Bennett
Biography
Sarah Bennett took up her appointment as Deputy Head of the UK Mission to ASEAN in April 2019. She joined the FCO in 2006, after a career in the Royal Navy and completing a PhD in International Politics. She has also worked in the private sector (Citibank and Price Waterhouse) and local government.
Before joining Jakarta, Sarah’s Foreign Office career included a focus on multilateral policy while based in London and postings to Afghanistan and Zimbabwe.
Deputy Ambassador, UK Mission to ASEAN
The Deputy Ambassador’s role is that of an important advisor to the Ambassador to an international organisation, engaging with every country or organisation that belongs to or observes the body. They also represent the UK’s interests in the absence of the Ambassador.
