Samantha Foley

Biography

Samantha Foley was appointed a Director of DCMS in September 2012.

Sam studied English Literature and American studies at Keele University. She is also a Chartered Accountant. She began her career as a graduate accountancy trainee at the National Audit Office, working with a wide range of government departments, agencies and charities on audit and financial management.

Moving into the mainstream Civil Service, Sam worked in policy and finance roles firstly at the Home Office, focusing on crime and policing issues, and then at HMRC where she focused on strategic planning. She moved to DCMS in spring 2010 as deputy finance director.
